I have always been a keen (and jealous) admirer of Australia’s Triple J radio, and as I found out thanks to James Vincent McMorrow’s cover of Lana Del Rey’s West Coast, their “Like A Version” feature is such a great idea with so much brilliant potential. This time around, native Australian Chet Faker comes into the studio and delivers one of the best covers I’ve ever heard. Covering Sonia Dada’s 90’s hit (Lover) You Don’t Treat Me No Good, Chet Faker and his disciples / Other Guys choir, deliver a tightly performed, summer-infused choral gem that oozes coolness. So simple yet so brilliant; this is a real Friday treat.
