Day 357 Agnes Obel – The Curse

agnes obel - the curseAgnes Obel’s debut album ‘Philharmonics’ was an absolutely divine proposition, so I have very high expectations for her sophomore album ‘Aventine’, due out early October. Her first offering from this forthcoming LP is The Curse, a sweet and intimate ballad that I’m sure will suitably soundtrack film and TV shows around the world over the coming year. Slow and calculated, The Curse lulls and soars with a restrained beauty, feeding off minimalistic strings, a lonely piano and Obel’s heart-warming vocals. This is a stunning return from Agnes Obel.
