When Viva Brother broke up a couple of years ago, after a tense and often unloved period of mouthy brit-pop swagger (which I really enjoyed unlike many others), I don’t think anyone anticipated much more from the band. Since then, I and probably many others have been proved brilliantly wrong as the ashes of their old project has since morphed into the excellent Brooklyn via. London project Lovelife. I absolutely loved their ‘The Fourth Floor’ EP and now they are back with a new single Midnight Swimming. It’s a dark and mysterious affair with an incredibly catchy synth edge that I can’t get enough of. This is how all pop music should sound in my eyes.
