A few weeks back I posted Mantra, a track from Dave Grohl’s Sound City music documentary. At the time I hadn’t got round to watching it, but now after seeing the film, I’m a little bit more in love with everything that has come from the project. Recorded on the original Neve mixing desk used in the famous Sound City recording studio, Grohl’s soundtrack album that accompanies the documentary pays homage to the plethora of incredible artists that have recorded in the sacred studio. If the mammoth sounding From Can to Can’t featuring the likes of Cory Taylor (Slipknot), Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick), Scott Reeder (The Obssessed) and Dave Grohl (Nirvana) doesn’t tempt you to see the documentary, I can’t think of anything else that will. Except the promise of copious amounts of Dave Grohl being awesome. But that’s to be expected.
