Day 221 Lissie – Shameless

As things go, I’m generally not the biggest fan of country music in any form, however Lissie’s debut album ‘Catching A Tiger’ with its pop/rock influences really struck a chord with me. Three years on from her debut’s release, Lissie is back with new material. Unveiled this morning, Shameless launches straight into things with an aggressive, power-chord aided verse and chorus that sees Lissie break down the pristine walls of plastic pop stars, sticking to her down to earth ethos, singing ‘I don’t want to be famous / If I got to be shameless / If you don’t know what my name is / soooooo what?’ Slightly edgier than her previous singles and with a lot more attitude, Shameless (despite its slightly sheltered vocal range) seems like a good step in the right direction. Album soon please?
