Day 203 Songs: Ohia – The Lioness

It is incredibly sad that the first time I ever heard Jason Molina’s name was the news of his death at the age of 39 earlier this week. This tragic event did however lead me to his music. Having released 13 albums and 6 EP’s over a career-spanning 17 years, perhaps Molina’s most recognised song is the stunning The Lioness. Highly imagistic, The Lioness‘ powerful lyrics and eerie sense of impending darkness seems a fitting final testament to a musical icon that will be missed by many.
